The Composite Prototyping Center, DBA Institute for Workforce Advancement (IWA) is a 501c3 non-profit organization. In partnership with industry, government, and education, IWA’s mission is to become the unquestionable leader for the Northeast regions advanced manufacturing workforce. We achieve this by promoting and enhancing the use of composite materials within manufacturing and becoming the regional “go to” workforce-development resource for incumbent and in-transition workers, as well as college and non-college bound students. By providing training and certification programs for composite technicians and engineers that consistently meet and exceed national standards, we will open career pipelines within industries as diverse as energy, aerospace, advanced manufacturing and the building trades.

As New York state moves closer to meeting its renewable energy and offshore wind power goals, local and regional businesses have a unique opportunity to become part of a flourishing domestic industry. In partnership with our sponsors, OSW Supply Chain (a DBA of the Composite Prototyping Center) serves as a trusted resource to assist all stakeholders, including businesses and local communities, in understanding how they can engage in the future of offshore wind development. With an initial focus on building the supply chain, we offer insights and documented best practices, including project requirements; how to provide products and services to prime contractors and OEMs; information on federal and state regulations; and workforce development requirements. To help us fulfill our educational and advocacy mandate, we encourage visitors to contact us with questions. Launchpad Huntington (LPH) has become the premier co-working space on Long Island. A STEAM educated workforce is key to our regional growth and guarantees success as long as we support the students, workers and entrepreneurs to the fullest.
