Pryce Durnye Email and Phone Number

My name is Pryce Durnye. I have grown up in the agricultural/forested state of Ohio. My hometown is Greenville, also known as the Treaty City of 1795. Growing up in a town full of rich history made me gain a fascination with all forms of histories ranging from cultures, places, people, and nature. My hometown has the Darke County Park District housed in a nature center. When I was a younger lad, I would attend many of their events and lessons that the local naturalists taught to us. It was these types of memories that began my love for mother nature. I also had family that grew up along the East Coast near the Atlantic Ocean. My early exposure to the ocean developed my later interest in Marine Science. While I was in high school, I was not fully certain what I wanted to do with my life after my education was finished. I was in FFA and the organization appealed to my interests in learning further about selling products, communication, soil, water, plants, and wildlife.I began taking dual enrollment courses during high school. I wanted to get a decent head start on higher education at Edison State Community College near my high school. My passions in both Environmental and Marine Science encouraged me to take this step. I completed my associate's degree from Edison State in 2019 and transferred directly to Wittenberg University. The university had both of the programs that I wanted to join. I have had many grateful opportunities to travel so far in my lifetime. I have been able to apply my knowledge to residents and gain education in different countries. The countries include Iceland, Ireland, Costa Rica, and the Bahamas to name a few. Travel is one of my passions and I hope that I can continue doing so in my lifetime. During some of my free time, I run a Facebook business page called "Durnye on a Journey". The purpose of the page is to provide videos, activities, articles, and photos pertaining to relevant topics relating to environmental education. I am running this page so that I can have the feel of becoming an effective naturalist in my future. In May 2021, I had the opportunity to graduate with my BA in Environmental Science with a minor in Marine Science from Wittenberg University. In July, I decidedly moved down to Englewood, Florida for a change of scenery and meet new people and try new hobbies.COVID-19 put a severe setback in my prospects while attending college. I am currently on the lookout for employment in my field and am still putting in applications along with interviews. These are just baby steps towards my goals.
