PR Yu is a Silicon Valley-based venture capitalist and entrepreneur with a track record of driving innovation and commercial success across industries. He is Founder and Managing Partner of VC firm Yu Galaxy and was Co-Founder and Managing Partner of SV Tech Ventures. His funds have invested in more than 100 startups in a range of industries, many of which have IPO’ed or been acquired. Yu was also Founder & CEO of two successful startups and took both to profitability. He has served on more than 20 corporate Boards of Directors, in a wide range of industries including AI, energy, healthcare, robotics, biotech, fintech, and telecom.Yu is an Advisor for Research & Innovation at the University of Colorado at Boulder, a role where he continues to bridge practical innovation, research and commercialization.Previously, Yu was Chairman of the first Solar Decathlon held in Asia, a Zero-Energy-Consumption-Building competition to design, build and compete on energy-efficient buildings. This event brought together 21 teams from 11 countries, including the United States, England, Singapore, China, Israel, Sweden, Australia, and others.Yu holds a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a B.S. from Peking University. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers and patents that have garnered 6,000+ citations.
