HostPapa is a leading, Canada-based, shared web hosting provider founded in 2006. HostPapa integrates with many different addons and services to be a one-stop-shop for our customers' hosting needs.I report directly to our CTO, and I lead a remote team of systems engineers and administrators that maintain and improve our hosting and billing infrastructure. Our team also develops and integrates new platforms, products, and technologies into our existing stack.I also play a critical role in our mergers and acquisitions, HostPapa's primary growth strategy. Involved in our due diligence process, I vet the target company's hosting and billing infrastructure and applications to determine the best path to integrate their customers into our platform.Once we acquire the company, I oversee their customers' integration onto our hosting infrastructure and billing platform. To date, I've been involved in the acquisition and integration of more than five companies, resulting in tens of thousands of new customers and millions in added revenue.

My primary role as Technical Program Manager was to migrate tens of thousands of customers to our hosting and billing platforms when HostPapa acquired LunarPages and HostLabs in 2019.I was responsible for writing software that extracted data from these two companies' custom billing system for analysis, including designing the spreadsheets used to determine revenue per customer, which influenced the payout for the acquisition. We also used this software to export that data in a format usable by our billing system to transfer customers' billing data.I also managed the hosting data migration for the acquisitions, moving customers from the old server infrastructure to our modern hosting platform. I helped design, organize, and drive the process we used to transfer these customers. This process included migrating customers with dedicated servers and custom hosting control panels, which required additional expertise and consideration.

2aDays is a fully remote startup that aims to help high school athletes through the college recruiting process. 2aDays started as a college coach rating database and has since expanded to provide consulting and seminars to high school athletes, parents, athletic directors, and guidance counselors to help ensure the recruiting process stays honest.After consulting for 2aDays, I joined their team as Chief Technology Officer to fill a gap in technological management and knowledge. Given the nature of startups and the group's size, my primary responsibility is to act as the team's principal technologist, handling any technical problem from internal services to administering, improving, and maintaining our public website. Additionally, I advise on general business strategy and help evolve the business plan to make 2aDays a viable and profitable business.Within months of my onboarding, we had achieved the following:- Complete frontend and backend redesign of the website- Complete website infrastructure overhaul introducing automation, scalability, and redundancy on AWS- Migration from GoDaddy email services to GSuite, enabling the integration of Google Docs- Introduction of formalized agile project management strategies- Introduction of Git and GitHub to the website development workflow- Introduction of internal IT security policies and rolesThe launch of the overhauled website and infrastructure resulted in the following improvements:- Page load time decreased by ~75%- Number of indexed pages by Google increased by ~435%- Number of visits per day increased by ~110%

Movita provides high-quality, organic supplements that address women's specific needs.Movita Organics contracted me for my expertise in managing the technical needs of growing, internet-based companies. I have led the development of a coherent and organized technical strategy that focuses on improving their WordPress-based eCommerce website. I help manage other specialized contractors in realizing that strategy. I've also developed and implemented IT security and backup policies to reduce risk.So far, we've worked to improve their WooCommerce-powered WordPress site by boosting their PageSpeed score using various techniques, implementing Cloudflare, enhancing integration with MailChimp and Google Analytics, and optimizing their use of WordPress plugins.We will continue to adapt and develop the technical strategy as the company grows and look to implement new tools, technologies, and products to facilitate that growth and streamline their processes.

Envato acquired Pressed in June of 2017 with the desire to enter the managed WordPress hosting space. As a senior member of the original Pressed team, I played an integral role in the transition of our technology and further developing the emerging product, which I did working remotely for Envato.I was responsible for the infrastructure that supported the managed WordPress platform and the infrastructure that supported our customer management system and customer control panels. I led a fully remote team of engineers and developers to implement several cutting-edge technologies to differentiate our technology stack from our competition. We primarily built on top of AWS and utilized technologies like EC2, Aurora, Lambda, and EFS. The result was a shared hosting platform that featured genuine redundancy, high availability, and scalability while maintaining an affordable price point for end-users.Envato successfully acquired Pressed in 2017.

World Wide Web Hosting was a fully remote, leading shared hosting company best known for its Site5 brand of hosting. With top-notch support, a reliable hosting platform, and a custom control panel for its customers, Site5 was a top choice for developers and small businesses.I worked closely with our CTO to form the technical strategies that our company employed. I managed a fully remote team of 20 system engineers and administrators, supporting over 1,500 physical and virtualized machines that hosted 200,000+ websites on Linux-based infrastructure. I improved our infrastructure's uptime by 20% by implementing automated monitoring tools, reduced configuration management faults and inconsistencies by creating a new provisioning system, and improved performance and security through automated tracking and reporting.EIG acquired World Wide Web Hosting in 2015.

World Wide Web Hosting hired me to manage a seamless, large scale customer migration to brand new infrastructure, which we completed successfully in about six months. My success with that project led to a promotion to Vice President of Technology.

Maintained a data center that housed hundreds of RedHat/CentOS cPanel-based servers, and centralized email and DNS systems. Towards the end of my tenure, a colleague and I were responsible for calling most of the shots for day-to-day technical operations. I was also part of the emergency on-call rotation and regularly resolved emergency issues with our technical infrastructure.

Provided technical support for cPanel-based web servers both over the phone and via ticket. Frequently worked unsupervised and took care of server issues without assistance.
