After joining the Caminos organization through a first workshop, I enrolled and served as Maracaibo's, Venezuela, branch office director for two years, organizing and managing training courses and workshops for adults, youngsters and children alike. Later I became workshop facilitator, conference speaker, and an exhaustively-trained group and individual coach.Through Caminos I became an Emotional Intelligence specialist with strong communication skills. For me the activity that Caminos develops and its philosophy is almost unique thus I continue to facilitate workshops on an on-call basis.

As an independent representative of the most advance technologies in corrosion prevention products and systems, I had the honor to support the sales force through independent distributors in my region. I also kept track of projects, both on-coming and ongoing, working ways into engineering specifications, thus sales. I pioneered into product-installer certification and follow-up training for contractors, customer personnel and distributors'. I also had the opportunity to lead final QC approvals of installed products through non-destructive testing (NDT).

At Cree my main activities were to design and facilitate programs and workshops for generic skill development, programs for Managerial Assessment and Training, Conflict and Change management, as well as Recruiting and Selection activity. Curricula Design was included and Needs Assessment within client's environment.I also help to implement simple yet powerful mechanisms for follow-up and corrections. As a philosophy, CREE ties in secured-success strategies for learning and development.

At URV, a co-owned enterprise, I handled marketing and sales of specialty products for the oil industry in Venezuela. I also watched over new products approval, inventory control, purchases, imports, training, pricing, market surveillance and competition, among others. It was a great and successful experience.

At the time that Raychem was a company of 25% annual growth, our International Division made great contributions. I was a key factor in in three-folding our regional sales in a two-year span, as well as increasing our office gross margins by 32%. Working for this innovative and dynamic company taught me the grounds for solid self entrepreneurship and business management. The teams I got to work with were the highest professionals and innovators.

In over 8 years of service at this national petrochemical company, I had the opportunities to grow in my career from maintenance engineer to maintenance & operations superintendent, going through project engineer, project superintendent, power plant superintendent, among some other supervisory non-technical assignments for a fruitful performance in a continuous improvement environment. I pioneered in establishing new systems and procedures with great satisfactions for results.

At this, my first engineering job, I learned the importance of professional discipline, corporate rules and regulations, continuous improvement and learning, and, above all, that dedication and commitment is the basic tool for success. In my first year at the refinery I had the honor to be selected among the top 5 professionals at the largest world oil refinery of the time, an honor that has kept lit through the rest of my professional life.
