About Debbie Sanders

The mission of the Detroit-based New Common School Foundation (NCSF) is to develop a sustainable model of excellence for a “new common school” for all students, provide scholarship and learning opportunities for urban children, develop partner programs to enrich the education of children, purchase facilities for their use, and create fundraising events to assist grant making and fund development in mission areas. The Foundation helps support the Cornerstone Schools, which currently serve over 2,200 children in the Detroit area through one independent and four charter schools.About me: I have almost 40 years of experience working for top-level executives as an Event Coordinator, Office Manager, and Executive/Administrative Assistant and Supervisor in both the for-profit and non-profit business communities. I am also an accomplished speaker, writer, desktop publisher, and editor, and have the people skills any company wanting to make a positive impact in the business world and community would consider indispensable.I'm not only very good at what I do, however... I love it! Besides my technical and learned skills, I am also an efficiency expert, a "happen maker"​, a problem solver, and have a gift for creating and streamlining processes. I am truly passionate about bringing value to the organization and people I support.Personally, I am an accomplished mentor of at-risk youth; have volunteered with Rotary International, Habitat for Humanity, and many other causes in an effort to improve care and quality of life in as many capacities as I am able; have achieved Competent Leader and Competent Communicator with Toastmasters International, while serving as my local club's V.
