Review administration of research applications submitted to the Office of Human Research Ethics to be reviewed by the Western University Health Sciences Research Ethics Board. These applications have been submitted by researchers and scientists of Western University and London, Ontario hospitals and affiliates. Duties include, but are not limited to: • preliminary review of study protocols, post approval review of reportable events (amendments, serious adverse events, protocol deviations, etc.).• effective communication with researchers and scientists concerning the submission of projects for review, and research related education.• the primary liaison between the Principal Investigator (and research team) and the REB.• serves as the primary research ethics regulatory, policy and compliance resource for internal and external researchers, internal staff members and the REB members.• provides interpretation and guidance with regards to relevant regulations and guidelines concerning the ethical conduct of research with human participants.• develops and maintains standard operating procedures and guidance documents concerning the ethical conduct of research with human participants.Member of the Clinical Trials Ontario REB Council• Represents Western University Health Sciences Research Ethics Board providing advice and guidance to Clinical Trials Ontario regarding the use and navigation of the CTO Streamlined System and research ethics review topics and issues.Research Review Ethics Board member recruitment and training.• Ensures the Health Sciences REB is supported with adequate reviewers with a wide variety of expertise.• Recruitment, training, management
