I used to think I would find happiness in a corporate career, with a loving wife and family. However, after marriage and with two young children, I instead found myself worried about failing at work and home. My experiences with marriage and fatherhood were revealing to me the selfish condition of my heart. After we moved to Maryland, I met Ed Britton, who led the CBMC downtown DC group. Ed invited me to come hear General Krulak, then Commandant of the Marine Corps, who spoke about how his successful career and a loving wife did not stop him from feeling something was missing in his life until he discovered a true relationship with Jesus. His testimony resonated deeply with me. I thought: If the Commandant of the Marine Corp tells me he needs Jesus, who am I to say I don’t?I started to attend the weekly CBMC lunches at the Army-Navy Club, where I found mentors and built life-enriching friendships. Being involved with CBMC and following the examples of men I have met through this ministry has helped me to see that the whole of my life – including my work life – belongs to God.During my career with Panasonic, I was privileged to collaborate with many talented, mission-focused people, and to be involved with a wide variety public policies in technologies that have shaped society. It has been a privilege to work for a company whose business philosophy is to “contribute to a better world by helping to improve the quality of people' s lives” and that seeks to “advance the public good” for all. As I think about the next chapter in my life after Panasonic, I am excited to see how I can get involved with God's work with men in the marketplace more deeply. CBMC's places an emphasis on life-on-life relationships to help men integrate biblical faith in all areas of their life, and then pass on what they've experienced to the next man. CBMC encourages men to be actively engaged in their families, work, and communities by providing a network of teams to encourage and equips them to be on mission, with a purpose.
