Here, I worked on a project to identify mutant genes for learning and memory in Drosophila melanogaster. This involved performing Drosophila genetic crosses, behavioural testing, PCR, gel electrophoresis, brain dissections, immunostaining and confocal microscopy. I worked autonomously to organise my work whilst reporting progress to the project coordinator to plan future directions. I was also responsible for general housekeeping duties of the lab and fly stock maintenance.

Through this I built a better base in customer service and client relations, team work, time management and prioritising tasks under my own initiative.
