Palo Alto Networks is a prominent cybersecurity company. They scaled their product portfolio through acquisitions and were looking to unite these disparate products into a central UI with a cohesive look and feel.I worked on the UI Platform team who owned the roadmap for that initiative. I focused on the central Design System implementation. This involved coordination between the central UX Design team, management, and application developers.

Tech lead architecting the next generation of apple.com. This was a continuation of the work I was doing through Traction since April 2019.

Traction is an advertising agency for whom Apple is a client.I was occasionally involved in Traction-side work, but primarily I was embedded on a platform team within Marcom, apple's internal design agency, working on the future of apple.com.

Campbell Ewald is a large ad agency with offices throughout the US. Using Vue, Nuxt, and JSON API, I assisted them in architecting a custom CMS for their client US Bank.

Grove is a website that produces and sells home goods. As a member of the CX team, I collaborated with the Design and Product teams to ensure our frontend experience was continuously improving. I also worked on internal tooling for Vue, Storybook, and Vuepress.

Intel in Folsom housed the SSD testing facility, which has since been mostly sold to Korean semiconductor company SK Hynix.I architected, designed, developed, and maintained an internal application suite serving hundreds of users across several departments. I grew from a team of one to leading a team of nine who owned this product end-to-end. The app was built with Django, SQL Server, Vue, Nuxt, Feathers.js, RethinkDB.

NEC is a Japanese electronics company that's over 120 years old. NEC America Biometrics is a key player in fingerprint recognition (AFIS) systems for US and Australian law enforcement agencies. Our users included technicians, crime scene investigators, detectives, and jails.I led a team of 7 who acted as front-line support. We managed and supported hardware, software, databases, and network infrastructure for our customers. I personally spearheaded database reports, which used Oracle SQL, MSSQL, and Jasper to aggregate metadata on system utilization.

Allen Interactions is an eLearning company based in Minnesota. They make software simulations, management skills courses, mandated training, and more.I was a jack of all trades. Much of my time was spent working with designers, QAing deliverables, building out courses, or editing audio, video, and image assets. I made it known that I was interested in learning new software, and that made me candidate #1 for projects with a quick turnaround that required us to learn something new. I learned to use Videoscribe, Adobe Captivate, Storyline, and the in-house competitor being developed back in Minnesota, ZebraZapps. I was the lead developer with these tools on at least one project each. I also got some HTML/CSS/JS experience through paid courses and in-person training.Looking back, the most interesting parts of this job were being in a small and tight-knit team, having close connections to our clients, being able to wear many hats, and experiencing the consulting business model.

FrameNet is a large open-source database that is used for search, research, and natural language processing. It relates words in a sentence to each other in a variety of useful ways, and provides a way to access that data and relevant metadata.As an annotator, I was responsible for marking up sentences for these meaningful connections, identifying situations where the existing rules were insufficient, and proposing new rules. I also wrote Python and MySQL to perform batch edits on the database.
