About Dr. Pavel Solin

I am a fierce advocate of self-paced learning and competency-based education (CBE). The currently prevailing model of higher education, which is also called "assembly-line education", was established during the 2nd industrial revolution, and not changed since. It won't change on its own, despite overwhelming evidence shows that it does not work. That's why I founded NCLab (http://nclab.com). NCLab provides an alternative to traditional higher education in the form of self-paced, competency-based training programs. These programs are aligned with leading industry certifications in high-demand areas including Data Analytics, SQL, Software Development, Math, Automation, and others. They are being adopted by a growing number of colleges and universities in the U.S. and other countries. I am also a full professor of computational and applied math at UNR, author, speaker, organizer of international scientific events, and editor of international scientific journals.
