My twin passions are digital health and human metabolic health. BackgroundIn 2009, I started a LinkedIn group focused on San Diego's burgeoning wireless health industry. My intent at the time was—and still is—to share news/knowledge and connect like-minded professionals around the globe, thereby catalyzing innovation and adoption of digital health solutions to improve human health. A few years later, in 2012, I identified that digital health—which I define as the convergence of the digital and genomic revolutions with health, healthcare, living, and society—is changing our world so thoroughly and dramatically that it is essentially what Alvin Toffler (author of 'The Third Wave', published in 1980) would have described as the fourth wave of human progress. While Alvin predicted the frouth wave in perfect alignment with my definition of digital health, he didn't write the sequel to this bestseller.
