Legendary club night and all round enterprise Sidewinder have been putting in the work for the underground music scene for over 10 years now. They were the first night club night to allow today's chart toppers, Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Tinchy Stryder and others, all on a stage to showcase their talent. Not only content with the club nights, Paul Spruce has put together a record label and he and co. are looking to take the underground - overground. Sidewinder has also been the main influence behind popular underground nights such ChockABlock and Dirty Canvas. You have also created a S.R.E label. Can you tell us more about that and the artists involved?SIDEWINDER RAW ENTERTAINMENT was built because there is so much talent around the UK not being represented. I felt that so much talent would be wasted and would go unnoticed, so I had the vision of artists coming together from different areas and fighting towards the same goal, rather than fighting with each other and achieving nothing. SRE has become a very fast growing movement, now showcasing the best talents from all over the country and we are now appealing to a very broad audience of music heads. The general consensus is that SRE is viewed as a Midlands movement, but this was not my plan. I presumed all the people we have supported over the years would endorse what were doing and get involved, it’s definitely a positive thing for everyone involved. As a highly-motivated and results orientated manager within the Music industry, I have a proven track record of providing the biggest music events in the uk to a very broad range of audience, including VIPs and high-profile individualsDuring my time at sidewinder, I have worked within the music industry and media industry contributing to projects such as the Peoples choice awards and some very high profile events and tours, I also manage all my own research, I liaise with various divisions, formulated media reports and participated in group project meetings. Utilising excellent communication skills, I developed and maintained successful working relationships with both internal and external staff.I deal with the whole process of putting together our events from the market reasearch to find out what people wanna hear all the way though to having meetings with all relevant people involved with the event after it is all finished.my roles include, market reasearch, booking artists, booking clubs, line ups, getting art work complete, all online and offline marketing, risk assesment, working with the police and local councils to make events happen.

My roll is to book all artists for SIDEWINDER events and communicate with them directly until the point they touch the stage.I have dealt with some of the biggest artists in the UK Garage scene, Grime scene, Drum and Bass including DIZZY RASCAL, MS DYNAMITE, WRETCH 32, TINCHY STRIDER, KANO, LETHAL B.I feel very lucky to have had the chance to work with so many great artist.Im a firm believer that good communication is the key so a sucsessful booking for all parties, my main aim is to see an artist and audience leave the venue happy.
