After earning my Eagle Scout Award, I continued volunteering as an adult leader in my troop. Upon completing my undergraduate studies, I began to work as a scouting professional where I designed and ran after-school scouting programs and pack meetings. This was a unique way for me to help Spokane youth and give back to an organization that taught me so.

As an undergraduate student I worked nights as a manager for a a team of 15 employees serving over 1200 students during peak hours. In this fast-moving restaurant, my responsibilities included giving direction, new employee training, and accounting tasks. I also worked with people from many different ages and backgrounds, which was important as I gained.

As an undergraduate, I was encouraged by my biology professors to undertake a full time job as laboratory researcher during the summer months of my sophomore year. I began as a painter and was promoted to management position after completion of two houses. I was responsible for painters on-site through delegating tasks, planning, acquiring materials, and fully carrying out jobs from start to finish. I also learned and performed maintenance and repair on paint spray gun equipment.
