Als onderwijsondersteuner heb ik gesurveilleerd op meerdere scholen in Hengelo en Almelo voor leerlingen van de eerste klas tot en met de examenleerlingen.

De solicitatieperiode na mijn afstuderen viel samen met de examenperiode van de middelbare school. Lesgeven heb ik al lang leuk gevonden, daarom heb ik mij in deze periode als examentrainer aangemeld bij Lyceo en 5 meerdaagse trainingen gegeven op verschillende scholen. Daarnaast heb ik ook als 'onderwijsheld' surveillant werk gedaan op verschillende scholen.

Voor de afronding van mijn studie heb ik mij, samen met Fillip Studios, ingezet voor het doorontwikkelen van MAACQOase, hun partnerproject met Omlab. In dit project worden sculpturen met een 3D printer gemaakt van Itbettermatter, een nieuw biobased material wat bestaat uit riool reststromen. Deze sculpturen lossen langzaam op en laten mineralen vrij, een prachtige circulaire oplossing om de schadelijke effecten van stikstofdepositie in de natuur tegen te gaan. In mijn project heb ik parametrisch ontwerp toegepast met het programma Grasshopper om een aanpasbaar vogelhuis te maken genaamd Birdbead. Door samen te werken met Fillip Studios heb ik kunnen studeren hoe impactvolle innovatie geproduceerd kan worden vanuit de culturele en creative sector. As coordinator, it is my responsibility to organize the Teaching Assistants team for all four Design Sketching courses. This includes contacting the Teaching Assistants and scheduling when who is working. Furthermore, I facilitate the contact between the teaching staff, the assistants, and students.

The University offers 3 courses in Design sketching as part of the Industrial Design Engineering curriculum. During these courses students learn to draw designs on paper and digitally. These courses are guided by teacher assistants who support the lessons by giving feedback on the students work. I was selected for this job because of my proficiency in the courses. I have been a teacher assistant at all three courses and have organised additional events to further support the students.

In the IDE Bachelor I assisted with the courses Design & Meaning, Discovery, Project Designing for Specific Users. In the ATLAS university college I assisted in the Visual Thinking Course. For this position I was occupied mainly with copywriting for UT staff, assisting students with assignments during practicals, grading student work, debating and reflecting on lecture quality and content with teaching staff, planning and coordinating educational activities.

As a tutor, I guide and grade students of the bachelor programme Industrial Design Engineering during their Human Product Relations (HPR) project, which is their 5th project in the programme.

Besides working for the university as a tutor or teaching assistant, I also did multiple smaller illustration projects for multiple research groups. The researchers were from other disciplines than design and had a need for an illustration in their publication. These assignments were very valuable since the 'client' often had limited experience in visualising their concepts. Translating the academic concepts from the written word to images provided unique challenges. Thus far I have worked on 3 assignments, one about a 'smart bridge', another about an innovative sterilization technique, and the third assignment was about the combination of multiple flowcharts into a single coherent model.

As part of my minor phase during of the bachelor Industrial Design Engineering I participated in the crossing borders program. I did research on possible strategies to enable off-the-grid communities in the Amazon forest to use Non-Timber-Forest-Products to finance economically sustainable electrification trough solar energy. This research was done as internship for Conservation International Suriname
