Selected to work on projects by law firms including Baker Botts LLP, Williams & Connolly LLP, Wiley Rein LLP, Bean Kinney & Korman PC, and Venable LLP.During the Baker Botts project, I analyzed the relevance of sensitive corporate and technical documents produced in response to a DOJ request regarding a proposed oil-field services acquisition. Along with providing analysis, I determined whether communications were subject to privilege or raised potential antitrust issues. Based on my consistent quality and production over several months, I was selected for the Mobile Device Review Team to identify and log high-level executive communications.In subsequent projects, I provided consultation on a wide range of issues, including construction, consumer protection and privacy, international defense contracting, pharmaceutical efficacy, trademark and trade dress. I was regularly selected for Quality Control Teams due to my ability to provide thorough oversight of document classification in an efficient manner.

Provided opinions on patentability of application materials in the mechanical and electrical arts, and advised clients regarding strategy for patentably distinguishing subject matter in new or existing applications over references which may be or which have been cited in a claim rejection. Developed robust disclosure in new applications through dialogue with client, including inventors and in-house counsel, and drafted new applications directed to technical disclosures within fields such as automotive components, manufacturing, medical devices, security documents, and telecommunications. Prosecuted applications to achieve positive and expeditious outcomes for clients, often achieved through direct contact with patent examiners to schedule telephonic interviews where proposed amendments or other corrections may be collaboratively discussed.

Examined mechanical engineering patent applications through all phases of prosecution, including formalities, substantive prior art rejections, examiner interviews, appeals, and allowance.Achieved greater than 100% of expected production from first period of measurement.Earned awards and promotions for exceeding docket management and production goals.Selected from class of 200 to give commencement address at graduation from training academy.Reviewed patent applications to determine patentability of the claimed inventions.Verified formal requirements and substantive merit of inventions as described in claims and construed in view of applicants' disclosures. Researched similar technological disclosures to determine if any prior art references anticipate the invention or make it obvious.Corresponded with applicants to correct deficiencies and provide a prior art basis for rejecting or allowing the claims.

Drafted and filed patent applications and supporting documents for mechanical and electrical inventions. Advised foreign and domestic clients regarding how to respond to rejections and objections in order to procure optimal patent protection. Conducted interviews with Patent Examiners to clarify claim scope and to determine how best to prosecute the patent application. Supported litigation by reviewing documents and writing research memos, achieving a victory in a request for preliminary injunction. Studied Patent Reform Act 2009 provisions and compared with previous attempts at patent reform.

Researched cases and statues related to property law. Surveyed common law and statutory approaches to specific scenarios involving probate laws. Provided comparative analysis of the differences between various jurisdictions.

Studied the state of the art of electrospray and silicon chip fabrication techniques. Constructed electrospray device used to deliver nanoparticles in a method of chip manufacturing.Deposited nanoparticles in conductive patterns having features on the order of a micrometer.

Tested method of remote surface roughness analysis using iterative ultrasound spectral analysis. Analyzed power spectrum of reflected waves to determine how various frequencies scatter off surfaces.Provided suggestions related to using this technology in a manufacturing environment.
