About Péter Torontáli

Constantly familiarizing with new concepts in all things IT with a main focus on security.Main fields are security, analysis, automation and reporting.Familiar with almost all solutions in the Microsoft cloud ecosystem.Currently part of the SoC team, responding to alerts and new threats, enhancing preemptive reports, proactive threat hunting, refining and defining alert logic, configuring Defender products and automating as much as possible.Main soft skills are centered around quick and in-depth research and relatively fast implementation with flexibility and quick problem solving.During my studies I've focused on experimenting with technology and broadening my general knowledge. Thanks to this I'm capable of learning new concepts relatively fast, understanding complex setups generally well and adapt to new technologies seamlessly.During my studies I've familiarized with, concepts of databases (Microsoft and MariaDB/ MySQL), object oriented programming (C# and Java), web programming (mainly PHP), networking (Cisco CCNA2016 ), scripting (PowerShell), on-Premises environments (Windows 2012 and Core, Debian), agile methodologies (mainly scrum).For my thesis, I've developed a forum engine in PHP with a recursive database in MariaDB.I have had many pet projects, mainly written in Java and C#, mostly centered around mathematical problems and puzzle solving. I'm also a fan of trying out non-conventional/ obsolete programming languages.As a hobby I've picked up image editing (GIMP) and digital drawing (OpenCanvas) alongside of vector graphic image editing (InkScape). Previously did audio (Fruit Loops and Audacity) and video editing (Vegas), and 3D modelling (Blender).
