I joined ITRS following its acquisition of Sumerian, becoming part of the Executive Leadership Team and leading its Products department. I managed and grew a team of Product Managers, UX Designers, Data Scientists and Technical Writers spread across 3 continents. During this period I was also responsible for the ongoing SaaS delivery of the ITRS Capacity Planner product.During my tenure we grew the product portfolio from a single application to an integrated suite of 6 products offering a full range of monitoring, analytics and AIOps capabilities. The associated M&A activity resulted in 3 acquisitions over a 3-year period, in each of which I led the Product due diligence stream.In 2021, having doubled revenues and profits over the previous 4 years, we completed a very successful exit for our PE backers, with Montagu Private Equity acquiring a majority position from TA Associates, who retained a minority holding.

I took over as CEO following a Management Buy Out of Sumerian from existing investors, having raised funds from a consortium of investors and managed the overall transaction.Our core objectives were: increase direct sales of the Capacity Planner product; establish a partner channel; complete an exit to a trade buyer in a 2-3 year timeframe. We succeeded on all 3 fronts: sales revenue doubled over the next 18 months; 50% of the revenue uplift came through partners; and we sold the business to ITRS Group (one of those partners) in May 2018, earning a substantial return for our MBO investors.

I drove the transformation of Sumerian from a service-centric company to a product-centric company, overseeing the development and launch of Capacity Planner, one of the first SaaS products to be launched by a Scottish company.
