Actually worked for my Father when it from 1978 until 1982, where I quit because he was so unprofessional and I basically ran the entire company. We had branches in Knoxville and Chattanooga which he hated. I started for 2 years in Service as a technician an then became a sales rep, gaining 20 of the top 25 companies including HCA in Nashville (which was out Home Office) as National Accounts. Once I quit, he offered me the branches which were bleeding him dry. So, I took them as a completely separate identity with Neopost and within 2 yrs we were out selling Nashville. My Father came to me and said he wanted out, so I had my Attorney draw up a fair purchase agreement and he sold the Nashville business to me. I then merged all the other offices into one and opened a new office in Johnson City. Business soared - we had 45 employees and I moved every office into what my Father did business in I considered an embarrassment to bring a high end customer who was going to spend $75K with you or Pitney Bowes (their offices in Triple Class AAA) - so I out did them, Nashville in 5000 sq ft designer Triple AAA office park, every other office too just not 5000 sq ft. Transferred all calls to Nashville Toll Free, 19 incoming lines from the branches, computerized service dispatch, billing, statements, CPA for accounting and a real business was taking place. It was something I was really proud of especially to see $313,000 in receivables of our own and then another $150k in Neopost sales which put us #1 in the United States month over Month. Then my health changed, Neopost started changing Profit margins drastically and I sold the business for a great price to Danka! Moved to the USVI in St Thomas, started a BVI Yacht Charter Day Business! What a life!
