Workforce Planning Analyst
CurrentMy primary responsibility in this role is to track and optimize the competency and availability of approximately 600 drivers. To support this, I developed multiple Operational KPI dashboards that provide real-time insights into traincrew status, enabling us to identify and address key trends on a daily, weekly, and periodical basis. Our team successfully navigated the stabilization phase of the business, increasing the percentage of fully competent drivers from less than 50% to over 70% within a year. This achievement, combined with the dedication and collaborative efforts of other teams, resulted in a 70% reduction in daily train cancellations. Additionally, I assisted the Senior Analyst in managing the rolling 5-year Workforce Plan and strategising our recruitment activities for upcoming timetable changes. In addition to using traditional analytical tools to present my findings, I leverage my design skills to create visual maps and eye-catching reports, making complex information understandable for both internal and external stakeholders. Besides, I often undertook depot visits to understand local needs, which informed our decision-making at headquarters. These visits also allow local teams better understand our analyses and enabled us to provide adequate support to them.Through my interdepartmental work with Business Assurance, Customer Experience, Commercial, Control & Resources, and Performance, I have gained a deep understanding of the industry. This comprehensive knowledge allows me to effectively contribute to enhancing customer travel experiences, ensuring railway safety, and improving operational efficiency, ultimately driving revenue growth and deliver a better railway for stakeholders.
