Honey Bees Nature Club is a for-profit social enterprise and was started with the aim of reconnecting families with nature. With the growing urbanization of Bangalore and the depletion of free and natural open spaces, I realized people were growing quite disconnected from nature; my own family included! Apartment living, concreted grounds and lawns (with "Do Not Walk on Grass" signs!) means that more and more children are missing out on free play, the chance to explore and imagine, have a sense of adventure, and to JUST BE. Nature has now become a thing for tourists to see during holidays! Hence, the club aims at providing families a safe, fun, adventurous time while creating a sense of awareness and responsibility to the environment. We believe the more time you spend in nature the more connected you will be; then only will you develop a sense of responsibility towards the natural world...before it disappears. We organize various activities such as nature and story walks, treks, day-trips and camping throughout the month. We inculcate environmental awareness, nature observation games and activities, nature crafts, recycling and upcyling activities, gardening, tree planting and a leave no trace philosophy.
