Rotations included general medicine, infant special care unit, advanced infectious disease, administration, critical care, solid organ transplant, oncology and cardiology. The major project that I conducted was – Implementing clinical decision support monitoring tools for pharmacists in the neonatal intensive care unit. I performed a health-system wide medication use evaluation of IVIG utilization and opportunities for cost reduction. Longitudinal projects that were completed during the year were: restructuring pharmacist promotional structure, evaluating the compliance of ParX procedures, cost effectiveness of in-house preparation of ephedrine and phenylephrine vs. outsourcing, infectious disease antibiogram 2010, comparing HCAHPS scores for patients counseled early vs. late in admission, systematically evaluated evidence supporting formulary decisions.
