Client: AutoDataProject: Platform to provide database services Role: DataBase AdministratorTeam size: 7Technologies and Skills: MSSQL 2012, 2014, MYSQL 3.0 to 5.7, Postgres 9.0, Oracle -9i, 10G, 11G, Mongo DB 9.3 - windows, shell scripts-I was leading the benchmarking module to take major decision for migration between database platforms that were PostgreSQL, MS-SQL and MySQL-Responsible for researching the performance difference between the aforementioned database platforms and come up with empirical analysis of which DB platform performs best in what scenario.To do that I developed and implemented the module using shell scripts, migration toolkit (designed for table migration inter platform) and performance recorder (using docker app).-As the end result, we found that migration from MySQL to PostgreSQL doesn’t affect much performance and in some cases performance improved. However, MSSQL to PostgreSQL migration affect the performance to some extent and it wont be advisable to perform the migration (the nature of application was a confounding variable here).
