Localization Lab, the Network of Empowered Aid Response (NEAR) aims to create spaces where Global South civil society leaders can collaborate with donors and decision-makers in the humanitarian sector to develop and review localization solutions. It focuses on four workstreams: building national civil society constituencies, facilitating dialogue between donors and local actors, developing local solutions through Solution Labs, and documenting and sharing collective learning. Its success will be measured by the establishment of strong national civil society constituencies, the establishment of common principles and approaches to localization, the development of scalable solutions, and the creation of comprehensive documentation for replication.

Lead the ESCAP's disaster risk reduction vision, strategy and work plan in support of the United Nations' overall socio-economic strategic objectives in Asia and the Pacific taking into account the work of key regional partners in social-economic-environmental aspects of disaster risk reduction. Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme Phase II is one of the world's largest disaster risk reduction programmes. A collaborative project of the Government of Bangladesh and six development partners, it capitalises on the success of the CDMP Phase I to further reduce the vulnerability of Bangladeshi people, particularly the vulnerable groups, through comprehensive all hazards, all actors, all settings, all phases approach. Currently the Programme also integrate the climate change adaptation in its portfolio.
