Solving problems for people is my passion, and employment law is my practice. I am Senior Legal Counsel on the Employment Law Team at Fidelity Investments. Fidelity has 60,000+ employees and our team manages employment law issues and strategizes solutions to enhance the workplace. Fidelity is headquartered in Boston, but has a DFW presence in Westlake. The company is privately held.I was formerly Assistant General Counsel at Ben E. Keith Company, a food and beverage distributor, where I handle employment and litigation matters. BEK has over 4000 employees working in fifteen states and is the 7th largest food distributor in the country. My expertise comes from years of counseling and litigating employment matters for Fortune100 corporate clients while working at Haynes and Boone, LLP, an international corporate law firm. I am Board Certified in Labor and Employment law - This means, I had the breadth of experience to qualify for certification and I voluntarily sat for and passed yet another exam on subjects like wage and hour, workplace discrimination and harassment, and more. My superpower is making connections and keeping them. I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX, and I have lived in or worked in Austin, Houston, Dallas, and Fort Worth, covering most of Texas, and collecting meaningful relationships along the way. Woven throughout my journey is work as a humanitarian. Since I was 18, I have lobbied elected officials on human rights and civil rights issues, fundraised for humanitarian causes, and supported non-profits. I am currently on the board of WiseUp TX - an org dedicated to South Asian voter engagement in Texas and I am the Vice President and podcast host. People know me as someone who pushes the ball forward, keeps things light-hearted, and sees projects to the finish line. This is true at work and outside of work, where I lead Bar associations, initiate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion projects, and contribute to non-profits. I enjoy public speaking, and participate in panels, talks, and CLEs on DEI and employment law issues. I am a forever student, committed to never stop learning and bettering myself. My just for fun topic is FOOD (@eatsbyPK on IG). I love eating, cooking, and thinking about it (now I'm hungry again). I live with my husband, my son, and my sweet cat in DFW.
