About Puneet Sharma, P.E.

Professional SummaryThirty-Five years in management, and engineering of Oil & Gas projects ranging from $10 million to $1.8 billion. From 2008 to 2019, I was the Vice President of MODEC’s FPSO Project Development group, reporting to the CEO in Houston, which entailed the management of the engineering, procurement, project controls, project management, operations support, marketing and sales groups (30-120 personnel). During my tenure, my team and I won 21 Floating Production Storage & Offloading (FPSO) projects with customers such as BP, Conoco, ENI, Equinor, Maersk, Petrobras, Tullow in in Angola, Australia, Brazil, Ghana, Mexico, North Sea & Senegal. The EPCI values ranged between $500 million to $1.5 billion and the total combined asset valuation of the 21 projects exceeds $30 billion USD. The company tripled in size in terms of projects executed, equity invested, and personnel employed (4100 in 2019) making it the number one FPSO owner/operator in the world. When I took over the group in 2008, its success rate was 33% (project award to bids). After I took over, working with the Board, I implemented a series of business changes including the development of:• standard procedures & specifications, generic off-the-shelf designs and typical associated documentation,• as-bid /as-built cost & schedule data-base coupled with real-time commodities pricing and project feed-back,• in-house tools leveraging COM, SQL & Share-point to automate data migration from Design to Equipment Specification to RFQ issuance to cost estimate development cutting FEED cycle times from years to months while maintaining or reducing EPC contingencies, and then focused the team on prospects which could best leverage our modular solutions resulting in a 66% success rate while maintaining a similar overall General Administration Overhead.Prior to this role I, ran my own consulting company (IRIS LLC), directed Topsides Conceptual Design and FEEDs (Berwanger), managed an Oil & Gas Process Technology department (Foster Wheeler) and worked as a Project Engineer, Process Lead, Process Safety Engineer & Process Engineer (Brown & Root)

While I am still available for short-term consulting through Pelican Engineering, my focus starting 2022 is the development of Cyan Ammonia. The Cyan Ammonia FPSO (patent-pending) concept is targeted towards stranded offshore gas. The onshore concept is targeted towards small (associated gas or biogas) rates where the recovery of flared (associated) gas or vented biogas is considered waste and the act of recovering that gas is classified as "recycling carbon fuel" under EU RED-II. Converting that gas to a carbon-free fuel (i.e. NH3) and then using that carbon-free fuel to displace a heavy hydrocarbon fuel (i.e. MGO /HFO) is even more lucrative as it further abates GHG emissions. Similarly, producing and converting stranded gas to NH3 while sequestering the produced CO2 (for EOR or CCS), also results under EU RED-II in a greenish solution. While many in the industry are focused on Methanol, H2, CNG, and LNG, I offer that NH3A. Is easier to handle and store than H2B. More energy dense than CNG (volumetrically speaking)C. Can be liquified at temperatures and pressures closer to LPGD. And is Carbon-FreeMy colleagues and I have developed solutions for small onshore flares and offshore stranded gas and are seeking interested parties to collaborate with us in developing the solutions for projects globallyhttp://www.cyanh3.com
