Currently leading the Video team of SR 7750 router product line. I'm working on the CDN product and managing the teamI’ve been involved in architecture, design and implementation of the video products mentioned below. Most of the projects involve extensive use of message queues, data structures like hash tables, linked lists,etc., multi threading principles, socket programming and integration with third party software. The embedded software is developed in C and runs on multi core processors. Some of the projects that I’ve worked on are :● Content Delivery Network (CDN) : It’s a high scale, high performance HTTP proxy withcaching and streaming capability built from scratch. It involves new hardware, definingthe interfaces and working closely with the hardware team. Implemented a major part ofthe proxy and caching software.● Fast Channel Change (FCC) : Reduced the delay observed when a channel change isdone on a digital Set Top Box from seconds down to milliseconds. The solution works involved use of proprietary RTP headers. Also solved the problem of audio silence by reordering the audio packets.● Ad Insert : Added support for local Ad Insertion in the Microsoft mediaroom environmentby implementing SCTE 30/35 standards. This project involved splicing at RTP packetboundaries.● Video Quality Monitoring (VQM) : Added video intelligence to the router to monitor videoquality of the multicast channels and provided TR101 alarms, MOS scores, good/badframe counts, Continuity Counter errors, etc.● Perfect Stream : Improved the quality of a multicast channel by taking in two multicastRTP streams and generating a perfect stream..

Worked on Broadcast Network Processor (BNPxr) product that delivers a high density digitalvideo processing solution for grooming, statistical multiplexing, transrating and digital programinsertion (DPI). I was involved in the full product cycle starting from requirements, systemarchitecture, design and implementation of the real time embedded host software. Some of thethings I worked on were: adding support for Digital Program Insertion (DPI) by implementing theSCTE 30, SCTE 35 standards, adding support for the processing of the SI (System Information)layer of the various MPEG standards, at very high rate, etc. This project was developed in C++and runs on Linux.

Worked on the design and development of Software for the Cherry Picker, which is anMPEG-2 digital streams multiplexer and splicer. For the most part I worked on the ControllerSoftware and also worked on the GUI, SNMP and Command Line Interfaces to the Controller.
