Purab is a tech entrepreneur and a fund manager. In 2006, Purab along with two friends co-founded Cameo Media Labs- a tech venture in the image processing space that pioneered the technology for 'Digital Image Restoration' of celluloid films. In 2018 he extended that to the Cameo Investment Office, to manage funds for the co-founders/partners and associates of Cameo Media Labs.Although a techie at heart, early in Cameo’s journey Purab was introduced to Warren Buffett's business principles and has since applied them in business and life and steered Cameo to being the first mover and a market leader in the niche field of 'Cinema Audio Restoration'. Since 2011, Cameo has been a Partner of choice for heritage film preservation services in India. Since 2023, Cameo Media Labs has been part of the monumental and one of its kind ‘National Film Heritage Mission’- a project devised by the I&B Ministry to restore 2000+ titles from the heritage film collection at the National Film Archives of India. Cameo has been entrusted with the sound restoration of this entire collection. Purab is part of the UG Foundation, a philanthropic organization in Satara(Maharashtra) that works towards Skill Development and Employability of young girls and boys from the rural background. Purab spends majority of his time as a fund manager at the Cameo Investment Office in Pune at LC Road. At Cameo, Purab has primarily built a culture that emphasizes a long-term take on things that really matter- key decisions, resource/capital allocation and relationships.
