AP Research requires students to conduct independent, college-level research on a topic of their choice. They develop research questions, design studies, collect and analyze data, and then write a formal research paper. AP Research students also learn to effectively communicate their findings through oral presentations and defenses. This rigorous course develops critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills essential for higher education and beyond.

Underwent an extensive interview process to be selected as one of three students to represent the Vernon Hills High School student body of over 1,400. The role includes serving as an intermediary between the student body and the D128 School Board. This position requires gathering pertinent information from various aspects of the school such as academics, sports, and clubs while diligently capturing the thoughts and concerns expressed therein. The Student Board Representatives communicate these updates to the Board, consisting of education leaders and community members, as they make administrative and financial decisions.

Responsible for supporting the President in leading and representing the student body and acting as a substitute for the President when needed. It also requires organizing various committees and assigning tasks to Exec Board members based on their skills and interests to foster collaboration and accountability among the council members. Additionally, as Vice President, coordinating and planning events like Homecoming, Prom, and Winter Dance is essential to enhance the student experience. Lastly, this position requires the oversight of the council's budget and financial operations to ensure that the expenses and revenues are aligned with the council's goals and priorities.

Serving as a liaison between the Junior student body and Student Council Executive Board. This role requires communication between the Junior class and the Student Council Executive Board. I helped plan and execute school events like Homecoming and Turnabout for nearly 1,400 high school students based on input from the Junior Class and Exec Board.

Advanced Placement Seminar is a foundational course that engages students in cross-curricular conversations that explore the complexities of academic and real-world topics and issues. Using an inquiry framework, students practice reading and analyzing articles, research studies, and foundational, literary, and philosophical texts; listening to and viewing speeches, broadcasts, and personal accounts; and experiencing artistic works and performances. Students learn to synthesize information from multiple sources, analyze and evaluate information from divergent perspectives, compose evidence-based arguments, and design and deliver oral and visual presentations, both individually and as part of a team.

As part of the Junior Student Council Service Learning committee, we were tasked with developing a service project for the Junior student body that would benefit our community. We leveraged the collective efforts of students to send over 200 hand-colored cards to veterans. This was a meaningful way for students to express their gratitude and appreciation for the service of our veterans.
