Beyond this, Pura also assisted me personally with various photographic and book projects and in one instance prepared the layout of a limited edition book, arranged the pages, and organized the printing and binding. This was before companies such as Blurb made projects such as this commonplace. She also was invaluable in being part of the teams that enabled us to produce large-scale music festivals and Broadway-type shows on ships such as the Queen Elizabeth 2, where we often sent her to accompany casts and other members of the creative team. In those instances it was normally in the capacity of personal assistant to Shelley Shier, the President of Broadway Bound. When she was at sea she had to use her computer skills to the maximum and interact with the Cunard staff on board the ship constantly, integrating our programs with those on the ship. In short, there was very little that went on at our two companies that Pura didn’t touch in some way, all the way from the most intricate computer problem such as recovering files when things crashed, to making certain the cleaning people did their job, to being in charge of the office on occasion. In the years since she left our employ she has developed her computer and writing skills significantly, used them effectively at other companies and would be an outstanding addition to any office team.
