Dr P.Ghosh was Professor at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and also worked as Visiting Scientist at Swiss Federal Institute of Technology (ETH), Zurich, Switzerland; University of Melbourne, Australia; National Research Centre for Biotechnology (GBF), Braunschweig, Germany.Dr Ghosh is involved with the planning and execution of a number of teaching and research programmes, and also with establishing modern laboratory facilities at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi, Birla Institute of Scientific Research (BISR), Jaipur and Birla Institute of Technology (BIT), Mesra, Ranchi. He has taken a lead role in augmenting biotechnology activities in several states in India. He then pursued research in biomass based bioethanol technology. He then worked in the area of microbial polysaccharides and anaerobic waste water treatment. His current research includes industrial biotechnology, microbial diversity, and bioinformatics.
