• The goal of the project was to perform a study evaluating geographic knowledge acquisition between visual maps, tables, and auditory maps with sighted and blind participants.
• Built the first WCAG AAA compliant map viewer libraries which will be integrated into the Audiom platform from the company XR Navigation.
• Increased my knowledge on WCAG guidelines and ensured that the library followed the four principles of accessibility (Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust).
• Provided an option to use customized design patterns to represent geographic data that complements the colors to support people with monochromatic vision and color blindness.
• Learned the required tech stack from scratch and delivered a website as a common platform to view tables and maps for our study within three months.

• Built content favoriting feature for CZI’s Along tool that allows teachers to mark Along’s resources as favorites and view their favorite content on a separate page.
• Generated Active Record Migrations to evolve Along’s existing schema to support content favoriting. Implemented polymorphic associations and wrote extensive test cases in Ruby.
• Created GraphQL query type to describe different types of content that can be queried and wrote mutations to allow teachers to favorite or unfavorite a library resource.
• Leveraged GraphQL to fetch data related to content favoriting to be displayed on UI. Implemented UX-approved layouts using Apollo Client with ReactJS as framework.
