I'm a an advocate for positive change in the educational landscape. I started my career in Finance and Investment banking after which, my career took a transformative turn when I embraced the social sector by joining Teach for India. This experience was a calling that allowed me to impact the lives of students from low income backgrounds, making every day a rewarding challenge.My journey then led me to explore educational systems worldwide with Teach For All network partners. These expeditions, spanning India, UK and now Portugal have been eye-opening, showcasing the vast potential of diverse educational practices.Transitioning into the realm of networks and system led leadership, I now lead the Alumni area at Teach for Portugal, engaging and mobilising a diverse group of changemakers who continue to make a remarkable impact on theeducational system in Portugal. My academic background includes a MA in Education, Gender and International Development from the Institute of Education at UCL, where my dissertation was about research on formal and non formal educaion systems among the "Hijra" or transgender community in India - a topic is extremely close to my heart. Having grown up in India, diversity, equity and inclusion is close to my heart. I will always strive to unlearn, keep learning, improve my allyship and tell my story. I am an advocate for women´s rights and girls education. Outside the education and DEI realm, I find joy in the ocean and beaches. I am an avid reader and love exploring new cultures and realities around me. I am always available for coffee chats and am constantly looking to expand my network wherever I go. It is my mission to inspire, educate, learn and advocate for an educational system that empowers all students.
