Designed and implemented improved cache sharding setup for our proxy servers using the parent hierarchical caching feature of Apache Traffic Server. Played an important role in user cookie filtering and management project to comply with ongoing privacy laws (like GDPR, CCPA etc). Leading the Digital Transformation efforts to migrate our on-prem proxy servers to cloud (AWS/GCP) in a secure(MTLS) and efficient(cost) manner while still ensuring that the infrastructure is highly scalable(Kubernetes) and highly available(multi-AZ fallback solution).

Building the framework and new features around the proxy layer (Apache Traffic Server) at Yahoo. Was a key contributor to the award-winning 'Nacelle' project, which drastically improves the overall user perceived performance of Yahoo media sites by streaming the initial page template from proxy cache and thus reducing the time to flush first byte. Designed and implemented the automatic failsafe feature in ATS (Apache Traffic Server), which could be used to handle timeouts or other bad status codes from the origin server. Wrote multiple ATS plugins and developed an ATS Test Framework from scratch to be able to validate the proxy routing rules. Also, actively participates in ATS open source meetups whenever possible.

Worked with Prof. Mostafa Ammar on developing a new routing technique for intermittently connected networks where traditional routing methods don’t really work. Came up with a distributed algorithm for identifying a set of nodes in a mobile network, which can act as message ferries by virtue of their mobility pattern and can be used as message carriers in such a network.

Worked on Google android platform to facilitate simultaneous usage of 3G and Wi-Fi network to study the impact of increased bandwidth on battery usage.

Gurgaon, India

Contributed in building DACX Component Service Framework, which ensures better maintainability, scalability and high availability of the component service. Implemented critical features like ‘Inbound Call Routing’ and ‘Call Blending’ in the DACX Outbound Call Dialer product. Also worked on DACX Client Framework, based on EMF (Eclipse Modeling Framework), which facilitates faster GUI development using a declarative model driven approach.

Developed a Web Services enabled DMI (Device Management Interface), based on MUWS (Management using Web Services) specifications, to expose RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Readers for network communication.
