The Australian Nurse Family Partnership Program (ANFPP) is an Australian Commonwealth Department of Health and Ageing program, funded through the Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. The program is one of the cornerstones of the Australian Government's strategy to close the gap between indigenous and non-indigenous populations.The ANFPP is based on a highly structured model developed by Professor David Olds, based at the University of Colorado, called the Nurse Family Partnership (www.nursefamilypartnership.org).The ANFPP supports indigenous mothers from second trimester of pregnancy through to their child's second birthday with a range of clinical and non-clinical interventions and life skills capacity building.
