I currently run my own company specialized in web development, mainly in PHP. I help companies and developers clean up and debugging code to speed websites and web applications up (or get them to actually work). Next to that, with a team or solo, I (re-)architect, extend and maintain long-term large scale projects for (inter)national companies.

This position is kind of a mixed one: I'm forming the bridge between the IT-development and the operations department. This comes down to coordinating the daily activities at our development department. Next to that I'm a member of the working group for our new business support system, which is my main focus.

In my role as developer I contributed to QA, the code base and I spent a substantial amount of my time on researching upcoming techniques and infrastructures.I've implemented an order data scoring system to reduce processing of fraudulent / SPAM orders. After that I did a code refactoring project of the VPS and cloud public graphical user interface to utilize the features of PHP 5.3 and higher and to add unit tests to the project.The last project I've worked on is the public interface component for OpenStack Swift.During my research time I've explored the PaaS and IaaS markets for possibilities and the wishes of our customers.

As a developer I get to work on various types of projects. As the project portfolio is growing, there's a need for quality assurance, to which I also contribute.In total I've done two projects on Android apps for a medical company, some stand-alone small PHP projects and some work on existing applications.

I get to try out fun stuff while automating our in-house ordering systems. Currently I'm pipelining invoicing between our order system and Accountview Server through the XML capabilities of Accountview Server.This pipelining includes testing, checking and finalizing sales invoices on a testing and a production server and publishing the finalized invoices on our websites, which requires two-way traffic.

In this position I've developed a new interface and database model for the DNS service in PHP and MySQL. This interface is available for (and can be 'rebranded' by) our wholesale customers using this service. They can do bulk imports of their domain settings. The system can configure reverse DNS settings as well and creates the host and zone files.After having finished the DNS application, together with a colleague I've created the back-end application for administrating and processing the Allesin1 products (Allesin1.nl). Based on a particular (customizable) order process the application is able to determine which steps should be taken to provision, up- or downgrade the services the client requests. This order processing involves order processes, data and order checking, sales reports, doing and parsing (results of) external calls through cURL, FTP for checking zipcodes and informing external suppliers.
