My journey in the financial sector kicked off in the heart of the City of London amidst the global financial crisis in 2008. I was part of a FCA regulated stockbroking firm which was my professional home for an enlightening 11-year tenure. My initial years were spent immersed in the Trading and Investments division, which paved the way to a transition into the Corporate FX business. My role centered around assisting SMEs to navigate international currency risk during uncertain times. In this capacity, I worked closely with firms to provide unparalleled service levels and an acute understanding of their unique needs.Currently, I am part of the innovative team at Investec Bank, a leading specialist bank, where I contribute as a key player in the Corporate Treasury Sales team. In this role, I cultivate new business relationships and pinpoint occasions where our expert resources across treasury and the broader bank can add value to our partners. I am privileged to engage with exceptional companies and their founders and senior stakeholders. My role involves understanding their histories and exploring how Investec can become an integral part of their future narratives.Recently, I've taken on the exciting challenge of becoming the Head of Treasury Origination. In this position, I'm charged with building and managing the Treasury Origination team, an agile group of 8 professionals dedicated to unearthing new treasury relationships for the bank. We're an outbound team that takes the lead in making first contact with prospective partners, laying the groundwork for future relationships. We work in synergy with the Treasury Sales team to ensure a harmonized approach. Our mission expands beyond simply enlarging the bank's network – we aim to foster valuable partnerships that spur mutual growth.Outside of my professional commitments, I'm a passionate networker who relishes the opportunity to meet new people, understand diverse businesses, glean wisdom from others' experiences, and share my own insights as a mentor. I believe strongly in the personal and professional growth of young individuals. To contribute towards this, I volunteer on the board for BitaX, a non-profit dedicated to providing opportunities and education for young professionals.
