FMC (www.usafmc.org) is a membership and volunteer driven nonprofit involving former Members of the House and Senate in legislative strengthening projects overseas and civic education programs in the United States. FMC also conducts numerous current Member programs that create a dialogue for Senators, Representatives and foreign elected officials via Capitol Hill events and annual conferences.Accomplishments:• Since 2003, raised almost $20 million via corporate donations, foundation grants, and endowment contributions • Funder/donor retention rate of over 80% • Transformed FMC from social alumni organization into issue-specific NGO with, in 2017 alone, over 60 public events, 18 domestic and international conferences, and 32 university visits (as part of the Congress to Campus Program) reaching thousands of participants • Increased full-time staff from 2 to 12 currently • Increased annual budget from less than $500,000 to over $3 million currently • Secured over 7,000 volunteer hours donated pro bono by former Representatives and Senators in 2017 • Received numerous awards including The Freedom Award (U.S. Capitol Historical Society), The Commendation Award (Government of Japan), The Leadership Award (GABC).Responsibilities:• Partner with Board of Directors to develop strategic plan fulfilling FMC’s mission per its Congressional Charter • Respond to changing organizational needs and external challenges • Oversee full-time staff to implement strategy by clearly communicating expectations, setting benchmarks and deadlines, and empowering team to succeed • Ensure cross-departmental collaboration • Craft FMC’s annual budget and be accountable for FMC’s fiscal integrity • Serve as FMC’s spokesperson to partnering organizations, the media, Congress, and funders • Recruit former Members of Congress to serve as volunteers either for programming, fundraising or in leadership posts • Be a diplomatic and confidential consensus builder across the political aisle.

Many of FMC's international programs focus on creating a legislative dialogue involving current Members of Congress and their peers in foreign governments. These international programs originally involved Germany only, but have since been expanded to include Turkey, Japan, the E.U., Korea and China. Programming consists of Capitol Hill events, Congressional travel overseas, and hosting foreign delegations in the United States. Senior Congressional staff also is engaged.Accomplishments:• Increased international programming from one partnership (Germany) to six (Germany, Japan, Turkey, EU, Korea, and China) • Increased number of corporate and foundation sponsors from 8 to 22 • More than doubled number of participating current Members of Congress in both House and Senate • Developed mirror programs for Congressional staff.Responsibilities:• Oversaw all international programs of FMC • Program management included Capitol Hill events and international conferences • Briefed foreign diplomats on U.S. politics and elections.

The Subcommittee's jurisdiction includes vetting White House nominees to the federal bench, as well as issues such as legal reform, bankruptcy, court administration and management.Accomplishments:• Started as an unpaid summer intern and eventually was hired as a full-time Assistant Counsel• Assisted in drafting legislation, which ultimately became the 2000 Bankruptcy Reform Act.Responsibilities:• Conducted legal research for proposed and pending legislation • Drafted language for proposed bankruptcy reform bill • Drafted opinion memoranda for senior attorneys • Drafted speeches for Senator Chuck Grassley • Addressed constituent concerns.
