My work as an RDO focuses on local and regional support to teachers and schools. As a Regional Development Officer I typically carry out the following tasks:• facilitate professional development seminars for teachers of mathematics and engage in school support as required• liaise with management and staff of post-primary schools• support schools in developing strategies to implement change in mathematics• motivate staff throughout the implementation process• facilitate parent meetings and parent education in line with the Project’s aims as required• promote and support local networks of teachers in collaboration with relevant organisations• promote Project Maths in the context of implementing change in the teaching and learning of mathematics in post-primary schools• liaise and network with the NCCA and other relevant bodies• undertake administrative tasks• write reports and compiles evaluations• provide support materials for teachers and update online support for teachers and research and design further suitable materials
