Dayton DC is responsible for 40% of their North America volume and 9% globally. - Fulfill same-day shipping obligations to Hilti’s customers and Hilti's store fronts shipping UPS, 7different Courier routes, and 4 less than truckload (LTL) carriers. RESULTS: - Delivered year over year volume growth of 22% with same day shipping expectations while reducing cost per line by 33%.- Assembled and led team of 10 people (including managers) for 75% re-slot of 5,000 SKUs. Deep data analysis took into account item transaction history, forecast, item size, and proximity to downstream. Installed high-density storage structure. Resulted in a 50% increase in picking productivity and expects >$50k in annual savings.- Spearheaded a Kaizen event that standardized the LTL picking and packing process which improved productivity 33% and expects >$26k in annual savings.- Built proprietary order planning tool using Visual Basics in the LTL pick-to-pack area which assigns work with three different productivity expectations. Completely removes the guesswork from the planning process by calculating productivity expectations by work type and delivering process time.- Created an excel-based picking and slotting optimization tool which immediately identifies materials to re-slot for added efficiency. Hilti, subsequently, adopted the tool which became the optimization standard for their domestic and international distribution centers. - Built picking quality tracking tool using Visual basics. Performed pareto analysis of the data to pinpoint areas of opportunity. Led to retraining, product re-slotting, additional visual controls, and driving customer compliance. Resulted in a 28% reduction in mispicks.- Played a pivotal role in the downstream redesign. Removed operational silos. Resulted in additional 4,000 Sq. ft. in dock space and 10% increase in lines per hour.
