• I deal with Newsroom, Reporters, Correspondents, other staff and experts for News gathering. • As part of Assignment Desk we plan and implement news transmission, packages and movement of reporters, cameras and DSNGs, etc.• My desk decides the Day plan. We deal with all kind of news & feature content. • I am responsible for hourly transmission of news bulletins and coverage of live happenings. I have the responsibility of implementing the news agenda and top stories decided in the editorial meeting.

• Editing copy, written by reporters or features writers• Rewriting material so that it flows or reads better• Ensuring that a story fits a particular word count by cutting or expanding material as necessary• Writing headlines that capture the essence of the story or are clever or amusing• Liaising with reporters or journalists to clarify facts and details about a story• Cropping photos and deciding where to use them for best effect• Writing picture captions• Discussing concerns with editors
