A full time position at Department of Finance at Government of Ras Al Khaimah with a multi-stream mission including establishment and management of the Tax Department, and contribution to other spheres of work. Examples of my achievements include:1) Performed and managed the establishment of the Tax Department through design of Strategy, Departmental Structure, Jobs posts, Staff Competencies, Strategic and Operational Objectives, Communication Channels, Key Performance Indicators and reporting tools and formats.2) Improved compliance with Tax Laws through development of tax policies and procedures, performance of several training and awareness campaigns, and providing consultations to the Government. 3) Represented the Government in attendance of numerous tax technical meetings organized by the Ministry of Finance regarding proposed Federal Tax Legislations of Corporate Tax and Value Added Tax. 4) Contributed/lead other tasks/projects such as performance of audits and fraud investigations and management/participation in developmental projects and business consultancies in Finance and other areas.5) Recruited the tax team and supervised the development of standard procedures for performance of operational roles such as filing Tax Returns, performance of Tax Audits and providing Tax Consultations.

A full time position at Ruler’s Court - Government of Ras Al Khaimah where my mission was to realize an Internal Audit function that acts as a business partner, advisor and third line of defense in the governance system. Example of my tasks and achievements include: 1) Assessed previous audit practices and replaced them with a risk based audit methodology including the design of an audit plan based on an audit risk assessment.2) Managed change and resistance associated with the engagement of the new audit practice. Designed communication channels with stakeholders and other parties related to Audit.3) Created an Audit Charter and an Audit Manual. Created and set Key Performance Indicators, project management tools, reporting tools and formats.4) Lead and performed audits applying objectives and procedures based on International Professional Practices Framework. Audits covered different areas like internal controls of business cycles, integrity of reporting, and compliance with laws. 5) Performed other services like fraud investigations and business consultancies.6) The Internal Audit function became in charge of performing technical interviews with all candidates for internal audit posts in the government.7) Acted as Financial and Banking Expert Witness for 9 months in 2017.8) Acted as the VAT implementation Project Manager.9) Acted as Steering committee member of IPSAS adoption project (June 2014 – June 2016). 10) Acted as event Manager and lecturer at International Internal Audit Awareness Month (May 2016).

I worked in PwC in the assurance line of service and participated in several engagements with the advisory line of service.
