Store Locator Redesign (see shared link in summary)(HTML5/J2EE JAX-RS/Weblogic solution)• Completely re-engineered the FedEx Express/Ground store locator application as a responsive HTML5 web app. Moved the entire J2EE MVC structure out to the browser client using JavascriptMVC. Interfaced with Google Map Engine API directly from the browser so that the application can leverage data that is globally propagated for the fastest possible response. Wrote a J2EE JAX-RS based web service and associated API department manual.FedEx Lite Shipping(J2EE/Weblogic solution)• Part of handpicked team of subject matter experts tasked with creating a high availability global shipping application. In charge of aligning cross-team research and providing technical architecture expertise to create the next generation of global online shipping solutions. Employing Agile development methodology to provide continuous interaction between all business partners and rapid development of solution.Enterprise Application Security Lead• Appointed as technical lead over a large group of applications on FedEx.com. My duty was to lead and coordinate the research and implementation of Web and J2EE Enterprise security standards including methodologies to help reduce security flaws.Rate & Transit API(API solution – J2EE/Weblogic, EJB, API)• Part of a 2-person team that architected, implemented, and deployed a rating API to be used by all of FedEx.com. Loaded to production with 0 defects, this API sees a daily transaction rate as high as 1 million+ rate requests and growing.Customer Interaction History(JMS solution – J2EE/Weblogic, XML, JMS)• This application captures transaction history to a JMS queue for sales and support purposes. Wrote code to communicate customer interaction data from FedEx.com as XML to backend systems. Primary stipulation of this project was a virtual 100% uptime through the use of primary and failover JMS queues with hands-off failure recovery.

Global Rate & Transit Time(Web solution – J2EE/Weblogic, Eclipse, JUnit, Project Management)• Technical lead responsible for functionally merging the rating and transit time applications on FedEx.com. Rollout covered the entire global FedEx customer base in 15 languages. Worked in conjunction with global marketing teams and business partners to gather and define business and technical requirements. Successfully launched for global use in June ’06.• Lead the re-architecting effort for this release resulting in fewer and more efficient system transactions, using just half of the network bandwidth compared to the previous version. Introduced a brand new user interface. Mentored new team members during release while keeping to specifications and delivering on time.British Petroleum contract(Special assignment)• Worked on fast paced implementation of special business rule enhancements to help secure a multi-million dollar contract for FedEx. Assembled cross product technical team to provide service enhancements in record time. Was awarded IT Hall of Fame Award for this achievement.Rate Finder Application(Web solution – J2EE/Weblogic, Eclipse, Project Management)• Technical lead of FedEx.com Rate Finder application. This application provides rates as a standalone application interface and also as an integrated/seamless service of FedEx Ship Manager at FedEx.com.• Moved this application from being available only in US/Canada to being available throughout the America’s with a successful launch to all Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries. Worked with regional and domestic business partners to ensure customers’ needs were met on time and on spec. This release of the Rate Finder project put FedEx squarely ahead of the competition in LAC for account-based rates.

SiteWide Administration(Web solution – J2EEWeblogic, Sybase ASE JDBC, JBuilder, JUnit)• Technical lead for Passkey Administration application, a user and role management website for managing user profiles across FedEx.com corporate accounts. Successfully lead a team of senior developers to enhance the product performance and introduce a common look and feel. Introduced major usability enhancements such as data paging functions and streamlined data access across the application. Components were written with reusability in mind and were successfully used across many applications.Countrywide Mortgage account(Special assignment)• Assigned by senior management as one of two special technical subject matter experts in order to provide technical solution that helped secure a multi-million dollar contract for FedEx. Followed up with rapid solution development that included custom data migration, trainer training, and on time launch.Ship Manager Enterprise(Intranet solution – Jakarta Tomcat/Apache, Sybase ASA JDBC)• Served as a co-team-lead. Analyzed, designed, and coded new features into intranet solution using Java (J2EE) technology. Engineered seamless database migration module for software upgrades. Wrote customized code to integrate database migration into software distribution process.Ship Manager Software (Desktop solution – Java2, SWING, ZeroG Install Anywhere)• Integrated (third-party) software distribution automation technology (Vision64) into FedEx Ship Manager Software and re-engineered the software build process. Worked with vendor to integrate solution into FedEx.com software.
