SRO Lead at the GCC Systems Group: I am the SRO lead for the Systems Expert Working Group (EWG) for the Railways at the Gulf Council of CooperationTechnical Notes Write-up: I have written Technical Documents for the GCC System EWG, e.g., “RBC to RBC Handover”, “HABD Alarm thresholds of SRO”, “ERTMS National Values of SRO”, “ERTMS ID of SRO“, “GSM-R Numbering Plan of SRO”.ETCS Interoperability: I am involved in the evaluation of ERTMS failures and analyzing the onboard interoperability with the trackside implementations. Technical Analysis: I analyzed the technical failures and proposed the improvement measures for the Hot Box Detection System. I analyzed the difficulty in displaying DVSS images in case of simultaneous triggers at the Level Crossing. I did the technical evaluation of Sand and Wind Detection System. I analyzed the interface of Level Crossing Controller with the Road Controller and proposed solution for the timing mismatch. I also supported in analyzing and evaluating different Signaling and OCC failures.Technical Specifications: I wrote the RFP for different projects, e.g., Tracking System, Loco Camera Systems. I reviewed the RFP and specifications for the MPLS System, Upgrade of GSM-R System, Signaling Tenders, Systems Tender for the GCC Network etc. Tender Evaluation: I analyzed and evaluated various offers for Signaling and Communication Tenders and General TendersSafety Management System Liaison: I reviewed the proposal for the Safety Management System and supported Signaling and Communication Department in implementing the proposals

ETCS Test Cases and Tests: With reference to the RFP, Offer and UNISIG Specifications for the ETCS System, I developed ETCS test cases and later followed for the test and validation of the ETCS system. GSM-R Tests: I was responsible for the functional and integration tests of the GSM-R System and Subsystem at SRO network. This also involved the interpretation of EIRENE / MORANE Standards. Operation Control Systems Tests: My responsibility included the test and validation of the Operation Control Center Systems, Subsystems and their integration such as SCADA, Alarm, DVSS, Central Clock, PABX system, Signaling and Communication Maintenance Servers etc.Rail Systems Integration Tests: I worked as Rail Systems Integration Tester, such as for the Operation Control, Signaling and Telecom, DVSS, HABD systemsSupport in Contract Management: I supported Project Manager on the contractual issues, interpretations, requirements, and delay and penalty estimations. For example, because of my checks, we were able to demand and get “IN-Systems” for the GSM-R Network etc. Change Proposals Evaluation: I analyzed and evaluated various Change Proposals and claims for the Signaling and Communication Tender of SRO.Proposal of Maintenance Organization: With the introduction of signaling and communication system, SRO needed a new maintenance setup. I wrote a proposal for the maintenance organization. I also discussed and negotiated the maintenance plans of the contractors.

Signaling Design and Tests: I checked, approved, tested and validated Signaling Designs of SRO Line1 Signaling and Communication Tender.Operational Rules: I was a part of the team discussing and drafting the Operation Rules for the Saudi Railways Organization.Support in Training: SRO Tender required training of the Saudis enabling them to perform day to day operations and duties. I coordinated with the supplier in devising the technical and operational training and the contents of training courses.

Sales and after sales support: I was calculating the offer prices and negotiating with the customer for the orders. At the same time, I was responsible for the sales after sales support of the systems and products. Support to Marketing: I was providing technical support to the Marketing. This included technical analysis, failure history, evaluation of customer installed systems, improvement potential, technical data & reports, etc.System Engineering: I did Systems Engineering for the Signaling and Power Supply System for five stations and for Signaling TendersTendering: I was responsible for the technical calculation and technical risks & opportunities of the tenders.
