Leading the Global Software Engineering group under Intel China Software Engineering organization, focusing on building the foundational system software for Intel products through collaboration with Intel Global Software Engineering Group, including LLVM/GCC Compilers, AI compilers, AI libraries (oneAPI, e.g), Linux kernel upstream enabling, Linux power & performance optimization, Cloud Native enabling & Web Platform Engineering.

Leading Intel’s Web Platform Engineering group under System Software Engineering organization and responsible for driving Intel’s overall strategy around Web Platform Enabling. I supervise a global organization across different geos including US, China and EU and management the overall business process and alignment with cooperate strategy.

Initiated and innovated an end to end media communication solution based on WebRTC. I defined the product strategy and did product definition and drive the business case for this solution. This solution is finally officially funded by Intel cooperation and becomes the Intel® Collaboration Suite for WebRTC. And this solution is now a leading RTC platform based on WebRTC and has attracted developers worldwide. And later this solution is open sourced as Intel Open WebRTC Toolkit.

Initiated, defined and developed Intel Expressway Cloud Access 360 (https://www.slideshare.net/slideshow/security-in-the-cloud-planning-guide/17231790) which provides a Cloud based Identity federation and Single Sign On service. This product was finally integrated into Mcafee's product portfolios.

Working on XML processing technology for Intel SOA Expressway Product. I completed several sub-projects:1) XJIT compilation. This project is trying to develop a JIT compiler for the XSLT transformation engine virtual machine, which is one of the key performance factor for Intel XML library. The performance gain is up to 40%.2) Parallelized XML transformation engine: utilizing Intel’s multi-core features and XSLT declarative language feature, we auto-parallelized XML transformation of XLST. The speed up for our customer workloads is huge (up to 370% on DP/Dual Core system).3) Self Morphing XML Parser, which tries to utilize the similarity between the XML instance document and try to find the pattern , and use the pattern to accelerate the parsing for the newly incoming XML document.

During 2004~2006,I Led a small team of JVM optimization, the goal is push new technology into one JVM vendor, our team is in charge of its JIT optimization on Itanium and EM64T. During that project time frame, I successfully integrated Intel StarJIT (Intel's JIT compiler) into that JVM, resulting 4% performance improvement in terms of specjbb2000. Finally, I proposed and designed and implemented a micro instruction scheduler based on Finite State Automata, which already shows about 2% performance gain. In this project, I also helped to layout the project planning and execution tracking process, which is the key to ensure the business result.

I was involved in the whole production process of the first release of IA32 Execution Layer, which is a binary translation product to enable the legacy IA32 application running on Itanium® architecture. 2002-2003, I was in charge of the performance optimization of IA32-EL, especially for floating point benchmark. During this time frame, I designed and implemented a general framework to simulating the SSE instruction using Itanium Instruction and Register, which finally improved the IA32 Execution Layer performance by > 10% when measuring with SSE binary. Between 2001 and 2002, I was in charge of developing and maintaining a Random Test Case generator to ensure the conformance of the product.
