Qiang Chen Email and Phone Number
With over 9 years of research experience in plant biotechnology and microbiology, I am a passionate and innovative scientist who strives to develop sustainable microbial solutions for agriculture. I am currently working at Pivot Bio, a leading company that harnesses the power of microbes to provide farmers with a nitrogen source that stays put. At Pivot Bio, I design and conduct experiments to develop formulations that deliver live microbes to commercial seeds, and coordinate the production concept scale-up process with the pilot plant and supply chain teams. I also mentor junior researchers, participate in hiring decisions, and build up and validate new lab equipment and SOPs. I enjoy working in a collaborative and dynamic environment where I can contribute to the company's mission of creating a more resilient and productive food system.Prior to joining Pivot Bio, I was a microbiologist at Evonik, where I developed and optimized lab-scale microbial fermentation and collaborated with multiple R&D teams on developing and improving WP and SC formulations to stabilize Gram-negative bacteria and fungus. I also designed and conducted experiments of seed dressing with dry powders, provided services to customers, and installed new lab equipment and developed SOPs and training programs. I also gained valuable experience in working with diverse and cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and delivering high-quality results under tight deadlines.
