Livelihood and Resource Governance Program, primarily in Northwest Yunnan – managing Jisha Community-based Eco-cultural Tourism Project, and Small-grant Making for Environment Justice and Legal Aid Projects working with Chinese Law Schools and Law Firms on non-brown pollution issues in SW China;

Managing and Developing program strategies, identifying and cultivating grassroots communities' initiatives of conservation in NW Yunnan, an integral part of the SW China Biodiversity Hotspot supported by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund.

Project design and implementation of Integrated Poverty Reduction Programs in the SW China mountain regions,home to several ethnic minority groups. It is during these four years of field work, I witnessed the danger of lacking close linkage between poverty reduction, typically through improving cash income and food production, and protection of environment and sustainable use of common pool resources. I also started to realize role of the placed-based local knowledge in community-based planning and collective action.
