My main objective was to extend the Blue Coat technology and product portfolio beyond the appliances and into the cloud transformation. Led the team to focus on building a new type of cloud security services on top of public cloud providers such as AWS, by means of SDN design, using off-the-shelf cloud computing resources, to offer flexible mix-and-match security services. Key innovations include custom in-band network protocol to convey customer information in a fail-safe distributed fashion; a cloud architecture that enables full traffic flow path control across a public cloud backbone; zero-trust network for resource publication and access; and data driven analytics around applications, devices and user behaviors provides preventive security protections, and enhances attack discovery automation using behavioral contexts, beyond attack signatures and patterns. The entire solution is easy to replicate and allows a small team to spin up the infrastructure and to operate the service with ease and confidence. This scalable cloud solution is applicable to both the enterprise and the consumer markets. I served as a voting member on the Symantec Patent committees.In addition, I continue to own and run the PacketShaper product line that contributes significant revenue and profit margin to the Enterprise Business Unit consistently, quarter after quarter.

I was given the responsibilities to completely redesign, evolve and reinvigorate the PacketShaper product line and its revenue. In Feb. 2014 I led the teams and successfully released Blue Coat's new and First true 10Gbps full-duplex PacketShaper S-series product line, an innovative multi-core software design implemented on commodity Intel H/W with full application classification and QoS control. This is another "First" for Blue Coat and in the PacketShaper product history.The new product line contributed significant revenue immediately upon release, and had a high conversion rate to replace the legacy systems. I was deeply engaged with the field teams, customers and channel partners to articulate the new product direction, vision, and technology innovations. Often times helped sales teams to close large deals. This new product line remains a highly profitable product today.

Created the Advanced and Emerging Technology group within Blue Coat. Led this new team and focused on technology and product innovations in the areas of Machine Learning based application classification algorithms and mobile applications security. The result of these innovations is a first-of-its kind design of a consumer home based secure WiFi product, which offers security around users, mobile applications and devices including IoTs, with a cloud-based policy-anywhere eco-system. This new WiFi product and its associated cloud security infrastructure served as the key on-stage live demo in Blue Coat's company relaunch event that took place in the Morgan Library & Museum in New York. Led the team and continued innovations in the WAN Optimization market. In Oct. 2011 I led the team produced and released the industry's First IPv6 WAN Optimization solution on ProxySG. Ever since joining Blue Coat I was in the role of chief architect and evangelist for all of IPv6 related technologies and activities within the company. I was an invited speaker at numerous IPv6 conferences and events throughout the years, which enabled Blue Coat to become an active voice in the IPv6 industry, and allowed Blue Coat to become both the applications solution provider and a participant for the World IPv6 Day events. In 2010 I received the IPv6 Application Solution Pioneer's Award from the IPv6 Forum.In Aug. 2011 I proposed to Blue Coat senior management and initiated the first major commercial project to reinvigorate the PacketShaper product line. I joined Blue Coat to create the first official Networking Group within the company. Led the new team and completely redesigned and implemented a brand new interception engine and built an entirely new core infrastructure to provide all of the necessary interception and policy enforcement services to the various application proxies within the ProxySG appliance. This new system became the foundation of ProxySG 5.x and ProxySG 6.x to this day. In addition, this new interception engine and proxy infrastructure is fully IPv6 capable. I served as the Lead Architect of Wind River's Network Group. I led a large distributed development team across multiple sites, and in development partnership with Siemens, together, designed, implemented and successfully released VxWorks 6.0 for Network Equipment, the first VxWorks release that offered full IPv6 support. I actively participated and represented Wind River in the various IETF working groups, and I was an IPv6 technology advocate and an evangelist for Wind River at various summits and conferences.

I was the main development owner of the pNA+ embedded networking stack and related networking protocols (IPsec, DNS, SNMP, NFS, RIP, OSPF, etc.) and applications (telnet, FTP, etc.) suite, for the pSOS+ Embedded Real-Time Operating System (embedded RTOS). I was the creator of the pNET+ protocol stack for the pROBE+ debugger for system level debugging over the TCP/IP network. I was also part of the core team that integrated the Epilogue Technology's networking code (including its embedded SNMP stack) into the pSOS+ system. Integrated Systems Inc. was acquired by Wind River Systems in 1999.

I was hired to develop all of the necessary software for Develcon's first PC product called the "Orbitor 1000 PC ISA ISDN Bridge Router Adapter" for the Small Office and Home Office (SOHO) market. The software that I had to develop included: all of the Microsoft Windows' drivers for the adapter; all of the Novell NetWare Server platform drivers for the adapter; the Windows GUI based adapter control software suite including the bootloader, the configuration manager, the run-time SNMP manager, and routing table manager; a Novell NetWare server adapter control suite. At the time I could not find a VT100 terminal emulator for the Novell Server, neither opensource nor commercial. So I designed and developed the only VT100 terminal emulator for the Novell Server known at that time. I also developed the first Novell Certified drivers for the ISDN adapter. This was the most technically challenging job I've had out of college. I practically slept in the office for 16 months but this was one of the most enjoyable jobs I had. All of the software suite, for both Microsoft and Novell, and the Orbitor 1000 PC adapter, were successfully released and commercialized, and that was when I decided to go to my next venture.

DBR was a privately held company that was founded by Dr. D.B. Robinson, former chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering at University of Alberta. I was hired to work closely with a team of senior research associates at the company, to design and build the company's first new large scale graphical amine gas treating process simulator software running on Windows, which was sold and highly utilized in chemical plants worldwide. The key challenges included the large amount of new code that had to be written, the scale of the graphical user interface design, and the tricky tasks of gluing C code with the existing Fortran programs. I served as the key software architect for the entire system and the core developer, in the end, successfully delivered the final product according to the design specifications.

A privately held and funded software company, which specialized in TN3270 and TN5250 connectivity solutions for accessing the AS/400 miniframe computers. The company was an IBM Business Partner and HP Development Partner.
