Dr. Qing Lu, Associate Professor of Medicine at Brown University, is a past Parker B. Francis Fellow and a current NIH funded Principal Investigator (PI of project 1 of NIGMS, P20GM103652-01). Her pending R01 received a score of 21 (7th percentile). She was also the recipient of research grants from American Lung Association (National), American Thoracic Society, and Rhode Island Medical Foundation. Her research has focused on pulmonary endothelial cells and inflammation in pathogenesis of acute lung injury and COPD related to cigarette smoke and adenosine signaling. She has served as Co-I on several R01, VA Merit Review and Brown University internal grants. She has published over 40 peer-reviewed manuscripts and service as an Academy Editor for the PLOS One and has sit on study panels for ATS, American Heart Association and DoD grants. She has trained graduate students, postdoctoral or pulmonary fellows and undergraduate students and taught courses including Physiology and Introduction to Biology.
