I spared some time during the middle of my PhD candidature to be a research assistant for the Thermochronology Group. My main responsibility is carrying out apatite fission track analyses for industry and other academic institutional clients with geological samples from various backgrounds. It was a valuable opportunity for me to refine my experimental techniques, analysis abilities and time management skills.

After pursued the Master's degree, I worked in the fission track lab in the Key Laboratory Of Western China's Environmental systems, Lanzhou University.My responsibilities included:- Maintaining the automated fission track analysis system developed at the Thermochronology Group in the University of Melbourne- Supporting experimental and analytical requirements of apatite fission track dating from students and researchers. Several related papers got published based on the work during that period. One Master student was successfully graduated mainly based on my assistant. This work experience gave me a chance to become independent, persistent and collaborative in research work.

I worked in the Research Institute of Petroleum Exploration & Development-Northwest, PetroChina, after graduation. Our team was responsible for building the Key Laboratory of Reservoir Description, exploration of gas reservoir in Sanhu area, Qaidam Basin, and secondary-stage development of oil reservoir in Qie-6 work area in Kunbei, Qaidam Basin.My responsibilities included:- Gathering and summarizing information for building the Key Laboratory of Reservoir Description- Learning and training reservoir management softwares, RMS and Gxplorer- Investigating abnormal parameters of logging and petrophysics data from Sanhu area, Qaidam Basin- Carrying out sedimentary facies and provenance analysis based on materials and data from first-stage development of oil reservoir in Qie-6 work area- Projecting well locations for secondary-stage development of oil reservoir in Qie-6 work area
